Getting the Most from a National Parks Pass

If you visit more than a couple of parks a year, the annual pass can pay for itself quickly.

What the pass covers

The America the Beautiful pass covers entrance fees at national parks and other federal recreation lands for a full year. It does not cover things like camping, tours or timed entry reservation fees.

Check the National Park Service site for current pricing and the discounted versions available for seniors, military members and other groups.

Make it pay off

Colorado alone has four national parks: Rocky Mountain, Great Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde and Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Visit a few of them in a year and the pass is a clear win, before you even leave the state.
