Front Range Day Trips

Big views close to home, from red rock spires to a summit you can reach by train.

Colorado Springs

Garden of the Gods is a free city park full of towering red rock formations, with paved paths that work for strollers and longer trails for more of a hike.

Pikes Peak rises right above town. You can drive the Pikes Peak Highway or ride the cog railway to the summit, which sits above 14,000 feet.

Boulder

Chautauqua Park sits at the base of the Flatirons and is the starting point for trails of every length. Afterward, walk the Pearl Street Mall downtown for food and street performers.

Georgetown

This preserved silver mining town off I-70 has Victorian storefronts and the Georgetown Loop Railroad, a historic train ride over a high trestle in the valley.
